WorldPride DC 2025 Updates for June 2 - June 8:
Human Rights Conference, Capital Pride Honors, Parade, Music and Street Festivals, and International Rally and March all take place this week as WorldPride takes over Washington, DC
Washington, DC (June 2, 2025)-- Pride Month is officially here and the landmark WorldPride DC 2025 celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, identity, and unity culminates this week with a packed lineup of festivals, sports, concerts, and cultural experiences marking 50 years of Pride in DC. This week’s highlights include a global Human Rights Conference, the red carpet gala celebrating the Capital Pride Honors, and the iconic, free WorldPride Parade, Street Festivals and Closing Concerts. The week concludes with an historic International Rally and March for LGBTQ+ rights Sunday, June 8 on the National Mall.
Human Rights Conference
Wednesday, June 4 through Friday, June 6
The WorldPride 2025 Human Rights Conference is a powerful gathering set to ignite change and inspire global action. Taking place at the JW Marriott in downtown DC, the conference brings together changemakers, advocates, and allies from all corners of the world, united by a shared vision: a world where human rights are universally respected, and the rights of every individual are upheld. This event is not just a conference—it is a catalyst for change. It will include a Policy and Safety Summit curated by the National Trans Visibility March on June 5. With each conversation, workshop, and collaboration, attendees will amplify the voices of those who have been silenced for too long, offering a platform for the stories that must be heard. Capital Cup Sports Festival
Now through Wednesday, June 4
Washington, DC boasts one of the most extensive local networks of LGBTQ+ sports teams and leagues in the world and WorldPride is proud to celebrate these communities during the inaugural Capital Cup Sports Festival, in partnership with Team DC. Each of these leagues—along with their athletes, administrators, and volunteers—welcome teams from around the globe to participate in nearly 25 different sporting events. Capital Pride Honors
Thursday, June 5, 7PM-11PM
Every year, the Capital Pride Alliance acknowledges outstanding individuals, leaders, and activists in the National Capital Region who have furthered causes important to the LGBTQ+ community. In recognition of WorldPride DC 2025, this year’s event will take place at the National Building Museum to honor individuals from the global InterPride community. This highly anticipated, red carpet style gala will feature special guests, live music, food and drinks, and a formal awards ceremony, with presentations by influential trailblazers in the LGBTQ+ community. Parade
Saturday, June 7, 2PM step off
The iconic Capital Pride Parade will transform into an historic WorldPride Parade, emblematic of the global Pride movement, on Saturday, June 7. This beloved tradition honors the history and acknowledges the evolution of the LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in Washington, DC, while respecting the origins and importance of taking to the streets in our fight for equality.
Street Festival
Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, 12PM-10PM
The free WorldPride Street Festival and Concert will extend to two electrifying days during the celebration weekend. It will take place on Pennsylvania Avenue, between 9th and 3rd Streets NW. The Festival will feature hundreds of vibrant exhibitors, skilled artisans, delicious food, and beverage gardens. The celebrations will come alive with multiple stages, showcasing an array of multicultural and multilingual performances.
Post Parade and Closing Concerts
Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8
The free WorldPride Street Festival and Concert will extend to two electrifying days during the celebration weekend. The Festival will feature performances by Cynthia Erivo on Saturday and Doechii on Sunday. Music Festival; Global Dance Party

The ultimate global dance party comes to DC on the 50th Anniversary of Capital Pride. This unique 2-day music festival spans 3 stages with diverse mind-blowing talent, cutting-edge art and immersive experiences like no other. National Trans Visibility March

The National Trans Visibility March (NTVM) was founded in 2019 with a clear purpose: to uplift and protect trans lives, to demand equity, and to turn visibility into real systemic change. What began as a historic march in Washington, D.C. has now become a national platform for collective action; mobilizing thousands of trans people and allies to challenge injustice, build policy power, and fight for a future that centers safety, dignity, and leadership for all trans people. International Rally and March
Sunday, June 8, 9:30AM Rally, 12PM March
The public is invited to join the fight against hate and be part of “The Fabric of Freedom” with thousands of community members, allies, and activists to gather and march in the footsteps of the countless changemakers that came before us. The Rally will take place at the iconic steps of the Lincoln Memorial and will culminate with a march towards the US Capitol Building, ending with a global celebration at the WorldPride DC Street Festival and Closing Concert. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs/banners and to wear their pride. All ages are welcome, but individuals under 18 are required to have an adult chaperone. For more information, visit here.
WorldPride Welcome Center
The WorldPride Welcome Center is the perfect space for locals and visitors from around the world to recharge, connect, and celebrate. The center will be open from now through June 8 at 737 7th St. NW between G and H Streets. The center offers phone charging stations, a Fabric of Freedom lounge area, official WorldPride 2025 merchandise for sale, light snacks and beverages, and a curated art exhibit. Sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt and Drag Story Time will also take place at the WorldPride Welcome Center. A full list of events taking place within the space can be found here.
Pride365 App
Just in time for WorldPride, The Capital Pride Alliance is proud to partner with Think Nimble and The Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs to launch the Pride365 mobile app. Developed specifically to address the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, the Pride365 app serves as a local guide for all things WorldPride and beyond. It offers updated information on the parade and free two-day street festival, curated event itineraries based upon specific interests, and real-time alerts from WorldPride leadership. The Pride365 app is designed as a valuable tool to enhance the experience and safety of LGBTQ+ community members and allies participating in WorldPride events across Washington, DC. It will remain available and updated indefinitely as a valuable new resource for visitors and DC’s thriving local community.
