dLeña Unveils New Chef’s Table and Dinner Menu Items

Enjoy decadent offerings and new experiences in the heart of Mount Vernon Triangle

Washington, DC—dLeña by Chef Richard Sandoval is excited to announce enhancements to its dinner menu and luxury chef’s table experience. Innovatively crafted with seasonal ingredients, while paying homage to Mexican culture, Chefs Richard Sandoval and Carlos Camacho have created flavorful dishes for Mount Vernon Triangle locals and visitors to enjoy. 

Celebrating bold flavors and regional inspirations, new sharable starters include the tlayudas & salsas ($12) and bone marrow & adobo pulpo ($27) with grilled octopus, panela cheese, guacamole, xni-pec salsa, pickled vegetables, charred serrano, and blue corn tortillas. Other appetizers include the snapper tiradito ($21) with charred habanero aioli, achiote ponzu, yuzu avocado cream, cucumber, radish, and cilantro, and the creamy corn soup, chilled with smoked crab, huitlacoche truffle, crema fresca foam, and chili oil. Choose from an array of new entrée options like the atún tacos ($23) with seared tuna, ají amarillo aioli, citrus jicama slaw, blue corn tortilla, and sundried chili sauce, and whole zarandeado ($45), a butterfly branzino with green and red adobo chili, grilled avocado, corn salsa, cherry heirloom tomatoes, and citrus slaw. Order a side of the esquites mac & cheese ($12) or end with the newest dessert, fresas con crema ($14) with agave yogurt foam, berries, strawberry sorbet, ricotta cheese, mint, bee pollen, and cotton candy.

Those looking for an even more elevated experience can enjoy decadent chef’s table offerings with dynamic beverage pairings Tuesday through Saturday evenings with two seatings per night. For $160, exclusive of tax and gratuity, guests will revel in an eight-course menu with $90 optional beverage pairings. Enjoy innovative dishes like charred avocado with green apple relish, chile de árbol peanut purée, cashew aioli, purple watercress, charred lemon, and arbequina olive oil, Chesapeake Bay grilled oyster with chili morita bacon jam, smoked trout caviar, and chipotle mignonette, and A5 wagyu taco with quail egg, horseradish garlic crema, osetra caviar, tortilla de maíz criollo, charred tomato salsa, and shaved truffle. Other courses include Pacific tuna tostada with sundried chili sauce, peanut pipián, pickled chili, yuzu avocado purée, blood orange, olive oil pearls, and blue corn tostada, birria chile relleno with braised achiote lamb, creamy nogada sauce, roasted corn esquites, pickled vegetables, and cotija cheese tuile, Chilean sea bass with chipotle miso glaze, charred celery root purée, bacon relish salsa, and Monte Xanic beurre blanc, and chuletero iberico pata negra, grilled pork loin with smoked huitlacoche corn purée, sundried chili gastrique, and smoke grape chimichurri. Finish the meal with something sweet with the firewood crema catalana with creamy corn, yuzu pearls, gooseberries, crispy cinnamon churro, and popcorn gelato.

dLeña is excited to participate in Metropolitan Washington Summer Restaurant Week from Monday, August 18, through Sunday, August 24.
