RM Balance Opens In Georgetown

Experience Yoga, Mat Pilates, Meditation and More

WASHINGTON D.C. RM Balance, opens in Georgetown on Monday, February 23. The new wellness studio will offer yoga, mat Pilates, sound baths, breathwork and meditation classes in a serene intimate setting with a maximum of six to 10 guests per session, depending on the class.

The studio will be open seven days a week from 6:30am to 9pm. Lessons are thoughtfully spaced out so guests have 30 minutes after each session to enjoy light refreshments, speak to the instructor, meet their peers, and try out other complimentary additions such as red light therapy, lymphatic vibration plates, balance boards and acupressure mats. RM Balance takes a holistic approach to wellness, aiming to create and restore connections within the community and oneself.

The boutique studio prioritizes an individualized approach with the small class sizes allowing for personal attention, providing assistance and adaptations. RM Balance will also offer a weekly mat Pilates class taught in Spanish, providing greater accessibility and welcoming even more members into its growing community.

Yoga Classes

  • Strong & Steady Flow: A gentle and mindful adaptation of Vinyasa yoga. Our strongest and most active class, but with emphasis on balance and breath over intensity and speed. It will be taught with red light therapy at select times.

  • Prenatal Glow Flow: This low-impact yoga flow is designed for expectant parents and suitable for all trimesters. It focuses on gentle movement and mindful stretching to ease common prenatal discomforts and support changing bodies.

  • Seated Serenity: Through gentle assisted movements and aided by props including chairs and bolsters, the goal of this class is to offer an experience that honors the unique needs of all participants while cultivating a community focused on support and shared strength.

  • Hatha Harmony: This class will cover the basics of yoga asana (physical poses) while incorporating pranayama (breathwork) and dhyana (meditation). It is designed to be accessible to all participants of any level of experience, and offers adaptations throughout to support and/or challenge the guests' yoga journey.

  • Daybreak & Twilight Yin: Yin classes will follow the traditional practice of surrender and passive holds over muscle engagement and plentiful poses, synced to immersive and deeply relaxing music.

  • Vestibular Vitality: This class seeks to reduce dizziness for guests who suffer from BPPV (and other inner-ear and stress related balance issues) through graded exposure and gentle yoga poses. Teaches grounding, orientation, and safe movement patterns while maintaining a calm and soothing environment to avoid sympathetic nervous system triggers.

  • Restorative Yoga: Our slowest and most gentle class, this highly prop-supported practice is dedicated to rest and nervous system regulation. In this class, guests will be guided into a series of fully supported poses held for several minutes, allowing the body and mind to soften gradually. The emphasis is on feeling supported and safe in one’s body, and to experience nourishing relaxation.

Pilates Class

  • Adaptive Core Mat Pilates: A low-impact mat Pilates class that blends slow, controlled movements with the added challenge of Bala bangles, resistance bands, and Pilates balls. It will be taught with red light therapy at select times.

Other Classes

  • Harmonic Sound Bath: 60 minutes of meditative soundscape crafted by our resident sound healer. No movement or prior experience is required.

  • Bliss Bodywork Nidra: This “yogic sleep” class is a deep relaxation focused class that seeks to achieve a state between wakefulness and sleep, and is thus a great option for those who have trouble unwinding at the end of the day. Unlike meditation classes, this class encourages guests to lie on the mat instead of sitting up, and includes instructor contact and massage throughout the class. Mini whiteboards will be given during this class so guests can write areas of the body they’d like to focus on, and the instructor will know where to do compressions mid-session.

  • Inner Compass Meditation: A guided, introspective meditation practice to help guests turn inward, listen deeply and reconnect with their inner wisdom. It includes breathwork, visualization and focused awareness techniques with guests supported by meditation props.

Guests can purchase a drop in class for $60, a three-class package for $150, five-class package for $225 and 10-class package for $400. Private lessons are $140 for 60 minutes and are available as a 10-class package for $1,260. Guests who buy a package of 3-5 will get 10% off one massage at RM Wellness while a package of 10 will get 10% off for ten sessions, which can be transferred and do not expire. Packages also do not have an expiration date.
