DC honorees include Tabard Inn, celebrating 100 years of serving locals and visitors in its historic Dupont Circle hotel, El Tamarindo, the area’s longest standing Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant at 40 years in business, and 1789 and The Tombs, commemorating 60 years as a Georgetown staple.

“Since The RAMMYS started the Milestone Award more than a decade ago, we have iconic restaurants to highlight each year, and each unique as cornerstones of their neighborhoods and contributing to their communities in so many ways over their long histories,” said Kathy E. Hollinger, President and CEO of RAMW. “We lost a lot of great restaurants during the past two very challenging years that continue to be missed. To have not just a few, but nine establishments to honor this year and with such incredible stories, feels like a true honor for us as well, and a testament to their staying power.”

The Milestone Award was first awarded in 2008 to Ben’s Chili Bowl and other past honorees include restaurants like Tune Inn, The Monocle, Rockland’s Barbeque and Grilling Co., Tony and Joe’s Seafood Place, Vace, and Pizzeria Paradiso. Honorary Milestone RAMMY Award recipients will be honored at The 40th Annual RAMMY Awards Gala on Sunday, July 24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. 2022 RAMMYS sponsors include Events DC, NBC Washington, and many industry supporters.
