New York Exiles Kick Off Season 2 of Women’s Elite Rugby this May
Exiles Open Second Campaign on May 2; Home Opener on May 9
NEW YORK, NY – The New York Exiles return for Season 2 of Women’s Elite Rugby (WER – the first professional women’s rugby league in the United States – with the team set to open its 2026 campaign on Saturday, May 2 at 5pm ET against the Boston Banshees. The Exiles will then host their home opener at The Stadium at Memorial Field on Saturday, May 9 at 5pm ET against the Bay Breakers.
Led by Head Coach Diego Maquieira, the Exiles are back with renewed momentum, building on their foundation with a strengthened roster and growing fanbase. Player Misha Green-Yotts returns after scoring the first-ever try for WER last season and helping lead the Exiles to the Legacy Cup and WER overall top point scorer Jetta Owens returns to the Exiles after racking up an impressive 70 points in season one.
