DowntownDC BID Launches Summer Event Series Featuring Live Music, Fitness Classes, and Midday Park Programming

Washington, DC (June 1, 2026) - The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is kicking off its 2026 Summer Event Series with weekly programming designed to bring energy, wellness, and entertainment to Downtown DC throughout June and July. From lunchtime activities and live music performances to outdoor fitness experiences, the series invites residents, workers, and visitors to enjoy the season in the heart of Downtown DC.

All events are free and open to the public, with registration available through Eventbrite HERE.

“Summer in Downtown DC is all about creating opportunities for people to connect, unwind, and experience the vibrancy of our public spaces,” said Gerren Price, President and CEO at the DowntownDC BID. “Whether someone is stepping away from the office for a midday break, enjoying live music with friends after work, or participating in a wellness class at Franklin Park, these events help bring our downtown community together in meaningful and memorable ways.”

Lunchtime in the Park will launch this week, on Wednesday, June 3, and continue every Wednesday in June from 12:00 p.m. ET to 2:00 p.m. ET. Designed as an opportunity for downtown employees and visitors to disconnect from their desks, the weekly series will feature live jazz music, games, giveaways, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere that encourages guests to enjoy a true lunch break away from the office.

Beginning Thursday, June 4, DowntownDC Live! at Anthem Row will bring live entertainment and summer energy to downtown every Thursday evening through July 30 from 5:30 p.m. ET to 9:00 p.m. ET. The series will feature DJs and live performers transforming Anthem Row into an open-air music destination. Featured performers throughout the summer include Bongo District, Jahsonic, Future Band, and DJ Harry Hotter.

The BID’s wellness programming will begin Saturday, June 20, with Fitness at Franklin, a five-week outdoor fitness experience hosted at Franklin Park through Saturday, July 25. Held on select Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. ET to 1:00 p.m. ET, the program will feature a variety of classes, including trap yoga, hip-hop pilates, dance workshops, boxing, and additional group fitness experiences designed for all skill levels.

The DowntownDC BID encourages the public to register early and experience the wide range of free summer programming taking place throughout Downtown DC. For additional event details and registration information, visit https://www.downtowndc.org/summer-in-downtown-dc/summer-events/
