Denver Onyx to Face Bay Breakers in 2026 Women’s Elite Rugby Legacy Cup

National Championship Set for August 8 at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado

WHAT: The championship matchup is officially set for the 2026 Women’s Elite Rugby (WER) Legacy Cup, as the defending champion Denver Onyx will take on the Bay Breakers on Saturday, August 8 at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado.

The Legacy Cup is the culmination of WER's second professional season, bringing together the league's top two teams to compete for the national championship. The Denver Onyx return to the title match looking to defend the Legacy Cup they captured in 2025, while the Bay Breakers will make their first league championship appearance. The Onyx and Breakers enter the Legacy Cup with the season series even at 1–1, setting the stage for a decisive showdown.

The Bay Breakers secured their place in the Legacy Cup after a strong 25-17 win against the TC Gemini on Sunday, July 26. The Gemini scored the first points of the game before the momentum swung in the Breakers’ favor. Fullback OBH slotted in a conversion and two successful penalty kicks to put the Breakers up 18-5 at the half. Ultimately, the Breakers held the lead throughout the remainder of the game, with each team scoring two additional tries in the second half to bring the final score to 25-17.
