Chacho’s Spicy Summer Pop-Up Launches This Weekend

Washington, DC Chacho, the bold and beloved jalapeño-infused aguardiente founded by DC entrepreneur Dan Ziegler, is turning up the heat this summer with the inaugural launch of Chacho Outpost, a spicy pop-up bar experience at the upstairs level of Le Mont Royal in Adams Morgan.

Many in DC are already familiar with Chacho’s spicy liquor and canned margaritas or have visited their distillery and tasting room in Northwest DC – which just celebrated their four-year anniversary. The pop-up brings the energy and decor of their South-American inspired tasting room right to the heart of Adams Morgan.

The pop-up opens to the public on Saturday, July 12 and will continue through September 27. The grand opening celebration will run from 2pm-2am featuring complimentary tastings with Ziegler, and a DJ spinning tunes from 8pm-12am. Throughout the summer, Chacho Outpost will transform the second floor of Le Mont Royal into a fiery retreat, complete with vibrant cocktails, spicy flavors, light bites, and the energy fit for such a unique liquor. Guests can sip on a rotating menu of specialty and classic cocktails, such as the Sassy Llama and Chacho-Rita, all showcasing the spicy jalapeño kick of Chacho’s signature spirit. A full bar of spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available as well, so even those spice-averse friends can find something they love. Small plate appetizers, tacos, and arepas prepared by Chef Maria Olimpia will be available to pair perfectly with each drink. The full menu can be found HERE

“We’re thrilled at the opportunity to have our brand and story showcased in such a vibrant part of the city,” says Ziegler. “This is such a fun, tangible and lively way to bring people together over great cocktails at an awesome venue. We see this as just the beginning. The goal is to keep the Outpost concept evolving, bringing Chacho to new neighborhoods and collaborating with different bars, restaurants, and creative spaces throughout the city and beyond.”

“I’ve really enjoyed watching DC embrace Chacho as it’s grown over the last several years,” adds Chas Jefferson, owner of Le Mont Royal. “I’ve been using Chacho for a long time in different cocktail programs around town, and we’re so excited to bring that buzz to our upstairs space.“

Chacho is a modern twist on aguardiente – an iconic South American spirit whose name translates to “burning water.” Distilled from pure South American cane sugar and infused with natural jalapeño flavors, Chacho delivers a smooth, spicy finish that’s both flavorful and approachable, whether enjoyed neat or in cocktails. Founded in 2016 by Ziegler after an unforgettable trip to Colombia, Chacho (and their new spicy margarita cans) has become a fan favorite across D.C.’s drinking scene. The inspiration started with an adventurous trip that ended with Ziegler riding a llama through the streets of Bogotá – a journey fueled by aguardiente and forever celebrated in Chacho’s signature llama-branded bottles and canned cocktails.

Following the grand opening weekend festivities, Chacho Outpost will be open on the second floor of Le Mont Royal on Wednesdays and Thursdays 5pm-12am, Fridays 5pm-2am, Saturdays 2pm-2am, and Sundays 2pm-10pm.

About Chacho
Chacho is a jalapeño infused aguardiente distilled from pure South American cane sugar, delivering a bold, smooth, and fiery flavor that’s both unforgettable and uniquely drinkable. Founded in 2016 by Dan Ziegler after an adventurous trip to Colombia, Chacho pays tribute to the traditional Latin American spirit known as aguardiente – which translates to “burning water”– while reimagining it for a new generation of adventurous drinkers. What began as Ziegler’s journey through the streets of Bogotá, has grown into a fast-rising favorite across bars, restaurants, and shelves throughout Washington, D.C. and beyond. Whether sipped neat, served over ice, or shaken into bold cocktails, Chacho brings heat, flavor, and energy to every pour.
