ala DC Finishes First Phase of Renovations

WHAT: ala is reopening its doors at their Dupont location today, Friday, March 20, starting with the dining room area. The upgrades include a 220 person capacity and bright, Mediterranean-inspired architecture. The patio and upstairs are soon to follow in time for guests to enjoy the warmer weather. The Levantine restaurant which opened in 2021 chose to invest in a renovation now to create a space to truly bring people together in the DC community.  

ala offers dinner daily, as well as a mezze lunch for $28 where guests can choose two items and get a piece of baklava to go, and a bottomless brunch for $36 on weekends with an optional $12 bottomless drinks add-on. Guests can expect to see a lot of the same beloved items like the Quzi Warak Enab, a braised lamb shoulder with dolmades, mujadara, seven spice, labneh and almonds crispy onions, and the Manti, mini beef dumplings with beef stock, labneh, harissa and topped with crispy fresh mint, as well as some new additions.

About ala

ala is a Levantine restaurant that opened its first location at 1320 19th St NW, Washington DC in 2021, and followed it with a Bethesda location at 4948 Fairmont Ave in 2023. It aims to bring flavors of the Levant region to the area including dishes from Syria, Israel, Lebanon and Turkey. It is open for lunch and dinner during the week with a fabulous bottomless brunch on the weekends. It has been named in DC’s Best Bottomless Brunch by The Washington Post, a RAMMYS Finalist for Best Brunch and is regarded as a neighborhood gem.
