NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED AT CITY WINERY WASHINGTON DC

Urban Winery Adds Diverse Acts to Lineup

 

Washington, D.C. (July 22, 2019)—City Winery Washington DC (1350 Okie St NE) has added several new shows to The Wine Garden and Concert Venue for August, as well as a handful of shows into the fall and winter. Newly added shows include soul, R&B, pop, folk, country, and Americana acts.

 

Several musicians will join the lineup this August, such as returning local band Secret Society with a dance floor on 8/18. In The Wine Garden on 8/20 guests will enjoy Simone and Friends Comedy Show with Randolph Terrance, Kasha Patel, Umar Khan, Natalie McGill, and Brock Snyder.

 

In the fall, the jazz and hip-hop fusion stylings of Got My Own Sound will be performed in the concert venue on 9/3. Blues-rock guitarist Albert Cummings will perform his soulful renditions of blues classics in The Wine Garden on 9/15. In October, American Idol winner, Taylor Hicks will be performing hits from his Idol days as well as new sounds from his Las Vegas residency in The Concert Venue on 10/13. Seasoned performers Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers will appear on 10/18 in The Wine Garden. Patrons can also catch singer-songwriter Rhett Miller of Old 97s perform on 10/20.

 

Also, Israeli musician Idan Raichel will perform some of his hits in the concert venue on 11/12. Added to the lineup for 11/13 alternative-folk rock artist Edwin McCain will play in the concert venue; Edwin his known for his enduring love ballads “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More.” 11/22 brings Kentucky artist Chris Knight’s “Almost Daylight” album release show.

 

Tonight, Secret Society w/ dance floor will take the stage in the concert venue. Tomorrow night, Charley Crockett with Esther Rose will bring rich Southern sounds. For an out of this world wine tasting experience, tickets are still available for A Glass of Purple Rain: A Wine Pairing Album Listening Experience on 7/23. Later this week, enjoy performances from acclaimed Country singer songwriter Lori McKenna - Return to Bittertown with Hailey Whitters, and a show from The Gypsy Jazz group, The Showdown Kids in The Wine Garden on 7/25.

 

The weekend kicks-off with a show from Victory Boyd on Friday, while Saturday brings a group of prolific rock guitarists Masters Of Telecaster - “Tribute To Danny Gatton” featuring Jim Weider, Ge Smith and Tom Principato with special guest Taylor Barton.

 

City Winery’s first floor Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar is available for pre or post-show dinner and drinks. Reservations can be made at www.citywinery.com/washingtondc/. Additionally, guests can experience a range of City Winery’s wines at the Tasting Bar located in the entrance alcove, now open on Sundays as well.

 

All shows at City Winery start at 8pm unless otherwise noted, and City Winery’s website is updated weekly with special guest announcements and ticketing information. Valet parking is available during all City Winery hours of operation.
