Upcoming Shows You DON'T Want to Miss 🎤

From hotels to desk sides (like literally), D.C. has plenty of concerts to watch. Here’s a roundup of some shows in the area:

Headlined by Katy Perry, Norah Jones, and Mavis Staples, The David Lynch Foundation will be hosting their "Silence the Violence" benefit concert in Washington, D.C. on October 11 to benefit 10,000 at-risk youth in the district.

Dirty Habit, in collaboration with Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington, DC, welcomes Silver Spring-based jazz guitarist and composer Aaron Agre as the headlining musician for “Green Room at Hotel Monaco” on October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. The live music series features up-and-coming local musicians on Tuesday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Guests can enjoy the show in the hotel’s emerald green living room-style lobby while enjoying bites from Dirty Habit’s Executive Chef Kyoo Eom and cocktails from Beverage Manager Drew Hairston. Since launching in August, “Green Room at Hotel Monaco” has quickly become a new Tuesday habit for neighbors and visitors to Penn Quarter.

NPR’s very own Tiny Desk concert series just recently opened to the public with a four-day long festival from October 28 to October 31. The cool thing about it: we do not know the artists…yet! Although ticket sales have sold out, viewers can still livestream it. Just sign up for more details. 📹: I want to livestream Tiny Desk!

On October 17, Marc Cohn, the voice behind the hit “Walking in Memphis” will perform. Called the “great American romantic” by the New York Times, Edwin McCain plays at City Winery DC on 11/13. Don’t miss your chance to hear “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More” live. New to the fall lineup: Not For Lazy Moms with Monique Samuels returns for another live recording episode on “The Re-Redefined Me” on November 2.  Turkish musician Kalben performs 11/21 in the Wine Garden. See the full lineup of upcoming shows here.
