September '19: Month in Review
Rose City Comic Con
Just when you thought you’d see it all. ESPN’s Arda Cal happened to be in town covering the DC United and Portland Timbers game that weekend for LeftField Media’s 8th annual Rose City Comic Con. What better way than to chat with cosplayers, smash a soccer ball with “The Incredible Hulk” and play a little one-on-one fútbol ⚽ with R2D2 & friends?
And now for a series of very fortunate events. 1) In this animated GIF, we got Cathy running on the show floor escorting KOIN-TV to the Dark Horse Comics booth. 2) Watch our clip with Lou Ferrigno as he hosts a Hulk-themed trivia game show on KATU-TV with comedians Doug Benson and Dan Soder. P.S. We spy Mikala and Cathy 👀
Chance for Life
WUSA-TV recently had Chef Casey Patten whip up a famous Grazie Grazie sandwich and talk about the Chance for Life event this February that helps raise awareness for pediatric cancer. Hit play below!
Roofers Union x Atlas Brew Works
Shoutout to Brightest Young Things for this double whammy. Our very own Roofers Union’s General Manager and Beer Director Dave Delaplaine and Atlas Brew Works CEO Justin Cox sat down with their podcast show, BYT Radio, to talk about their Adams Morgan Festival IPA, which launched at the 41st Annual Adams Morgan Day on September 8 (oh and first day of DC Beer Week 2019 🍺).
Downtown DC BID District of Fashion
This month, Linda Roth PR teamed up with the DowntownDC BID for their third District of Fashion S/S 2020 Showcase. WTOP’s (former) Rachel Nania spoke with co-creative directors Roquois Clarke and Remi Wallace on their thoughts on the fashion industry here in the nation’s capital. That’s right NYC—we’re pretty fashionable too and we know it 👠
College students are more invested than ever in where their food comes from and what they are eating. Sodexo, one of the world's largest university dining providers, is hosting the Largest Farmers Market @ Campuses Across America (#FreshMarkets) with 70 universities in 27 states to highlight local sourcing and fresh produce, and encourage healthy nutrition on campuses. The week-long event, September 20-27, 2019, coincides with Partnership for a Healthier America's fifth-annual Healthy Campus Week (#HealthyCampus) aimed at making healthier choices easier for college students.
