70th Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

The United States Navy Memorial

Cost: Free

The U. S. Navy Memorial hosts a series of events commemorating Pearl Harbor.  At 12:00pm, Historian and author Stanley Weintraub presents Pearl Harbor Christmas: A World at War, December 1941 and host a Q&A session.  At 1:00pm, a wreath laying ceremony takes place on the Memorial’s outdoor plaza. At 2:00pm, local veteran survivors of the attack come together for a panel discussion led by noted historian Paul Stillwell.  Panel members will include former U.S. Navy Memorial President and CEO Rear Admiral Edward K. Walker USN (Ret).

Santa Claus flies into town early parking his reindeer and sled atop the world famous Kennedy Center for Roof Terrace Restaurant’s 15th Annual Holiday Brunches with Santa.  A delicious meal will be served accompanied by live jazz and incomparable skyline views.  Don’t forget your camera!  Seatings begin at 10:00am; Reservations required.

Celebrate Christmas Eve Fondue Style!  The Melting Pot will offer a special four course holiday-themed menu in addition to the regular dinner menu. Featured items include Cranberry Walnut Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue, choice of salad, choice of entree including Filet Florentine, Chicken Provencal, Tiger Shrimp, Wild Mushroom Sacchetti and Teriyaki Sirloin, and Pumpkin Pie Chocolate Fondue for dessert. Christmas Eve hours are 3:00pm-7:00pm.

New Year’s Eve Family Lunch Cruise

Cost: Tickets start at $45.90 for adults and $22.95 for children 3-12, excluding taxes and fees

This festive cruise features an expansive menu and unparalleled views of the city; guests aboard the Spirit of Washington will enjoy a lively and entertaining afternoon. The cruise boards at 11:30am and cruises from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Guests will receive party favors to celebrate the New Year early on board.

New Year’s Eve Cruises

Cost: The Odyssey cruise is $204.90 per person and the Spirit of Washington cruise is $159.90 per person, both excluding taxes and fees

Entertainment Cruises is offering cruises on both the Odyssey and the Spirit of Washington to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Both cruises include a premium open bar, champagne toast at midnight, party favors, live entertainment and dancing.  The cruises board at 8:00pm and sail from 9:00pm-12:30am. To ring in the New Year right, the boats will remain dockside until 1:00am.

New Year’s Eve Celebration

Ring in 2012 at Roof Terrace Restaurant atop the world famous John F.
