Knock-Out Abuse Against Women was founded in 1993 by local Washingtonians Jill Sorensen and Cheryl Masri. These women have guided Knock-Out Abuse, raising more than $6.5 million to aid women and children whose lives have been shattered by abuse, poverty and homelessness. KOA celebrated their 16th anniversary on November 5, 2009 at their fundraising gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC in Washington’s West End.
